From Zero to Hero
This is one of the harder updates to write that I’ve done in a while for a couple reasons. The big one is because I’ve missed updating so many games that this is going to be one lo-o-o-ng update. The other reason is further down the post. First off, we played the Raptors at home
Grizzlies are a Bear
We played the Grizz in Memphis, and I noticed that I was leading the league in field goal percentage. Not bad. Now, to the game.
Nothing ‘bout Nets
We were up against the Nets recently, and it was close. We were down six halfway through the fourth quarter when I finally started to play well in the clutch.
Bud Livestreamed
I ran a Livestream of Bud Daniel tonight. If you want to know when I do another, follow me on Twitter (@Alphasim).
Where’s Scola Now?
Bud’s back in action again, facing the man he eventually replaced as the Knicks power forward, Amare’ Stoudemire. Amare had a decent game, but he couldn’t overcome his former backup – me.
Getting Over the Hump
One of my favorite (sarcasm) teams just came through Denver. Memphis rolled into town, and we had a hard time with them. Of course, I struggled against them with Miami, so of course Denver’s going to be in trouble.
Wade is Mauled
We were in Memphis to see the Grizzlies, and just like our last game against them, it was infuriating. It seemed like every time I passed the ball it got tipped, and I could never get open.
Bearing my Weakness
A recent game against Memphis was irritating as can be. We won, I scored 14 points and contributed 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks with only 1 turnover but I also had 4 fouls and at least six passes that were tipped but recovered. I just had a bad, bad game.
Not Looking too Good
I’ve logged another three games, and I’m coming to a conclusion: there’s on place for a player like me in the NBA. I am, at best, a distraction, though to whom (the other team or mine) is up for debate. We beat the Grizzlies at Memphis and Indiana at home, but I had box scores of 5-0-1 and 0-1-2 and had three turnovers between them .
It’s getting really tiresome to go out on the court and not contribute anything. I’m apparently past the point of taking teams by surprise. I’m not able to set picks like I once did because players go around them and look out for them now. My team knows I’m a liability and most of the time keeps the ball out of my hands so I can’t contribute in ways other then setting picks and running screens on offense. I can’t run plays when I don’t have the ball, and when I do pass to a teammates, they never get a shot off.
Sometimes I wonder what’s going on in their heads because they’ll get the ball and just stand there, wide open, and not take a shot or go to the basket. Now, when the pass comes from LeBron or Wade, the play is crisp and they score. Maybe I’m a sucky passer.
Out third game was against the Magic in Orlando, and we got pounded. I scored two points and had two boards and an assist so I wasn’t much help. Times are tough for me here in Miami. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong so fixing my flaws isn’t easy. Where the Hell is the coach at a time like this?
