Rick Daniel 2K11 – S2

2011-12 Mid Season Report

It’s two days to the trade dead line and less then a week to the All-Star break so I figured this is a good time to catch everyone up on how I’m doing right now.

I’m currently scoring 20.2 ppg with 6.4 rpg and 3.8 apg, which are more Allen Iverson numbers then Steve Nash numbers to be honest. I would be fourth in the league in scoring if I qualified (I missed too many games while hurt). I won player of the week  for the week I spent running the show in Miami, the first time since I won four straight in November en route to my player of the month award. I’ve got a 90+ rated vertical and just recently learned how dunk, so that’ll start to show up in games soon I hope. That’s all for now, I’ll check back in once I play another game.

The Big 3, Minus 3

Just… dammit. Bosh got hurt in our latest game, leaving a lineup of me, Mario Chalmers, Mike Miller, Kurt Thomas and John Francis. Wow, huh? I would complain more, but that lineup just helped put away a big, bad foe – the Lakers.

Spurred to a Trade

nba2k11 2011-03-24 13-39-04-56

First off, I’m honoring the poll on my trade status – I’ve asked to leave Miami. I stated Cleveland, the Lakers and New York as my top three stops. Will I go where I want? Will I go anywhere? Wait and find out, I guess, I because I was still with the Heat when the Spurs came calling this morning.

Knick-ed and Bruised

nba2k11 2011-03-23 01-04-34-85

It’s about time for me to make a trade request if I’m going to, so I’m going to use this Knicks game as a barometer for my potential elsewhere.

Trade Deadline: One Week Away

So far on my poll on the page, we have four votes and all of them are for getting out of town. I’ve got seven days to ask for my trade, but where should I try and go? Is there a particular place that sounds ideal? I’m open to suggestions.

For right now one of the teams I’m looking to join is the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are currently the 6th seed in the east, 6 games behind the Heat. As I’ve said before I’m from the Cleveland area (Akron, actually) so that, tied with my interest in leading a team sounds good. The team currently has J.R. Smith, Vince Carter (bad… flashbacks… to 2k10…), Antawn Jamison, J.J. Hickson and Mo Williams as their their top players.

My second option is L.A. to play with either the Lakers. The Lakers are the Lakers, but I’d be deferring to Kobe all the time. They’re second behind the Thunder in the west, and aside from Kobe they still have their inside presence with Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.

The Thunder are an interesting option, and while I’d be behind Russell Westbrook, I’d have Kevin Durant to rely on. That’s the big thing the Cavs lack right now – someone to carry the team if I have a bad night. So, what should I do?

The Rick Daniel Era

nba2k11 2011-03-21 03-29-22-90

It’s officially game one of the “Rick runs the show” era in Miami, and it was a doozy. The team cannot expect me to match my performance tonight every single game – I can’t exactly set new scoring highs every time out, can I?

Fall of the King

nba2k11 2011-03-21 00-35-54-22

You know how I’ve kind of been wondering if I could run a team, lead it like LeBron and Wade do? Yeah, about that… we just had another injury, and the man above was the casualty. For the next week or so, this is my team. Heaven help us all.

The Anchor

nba2k11 2011-03-19 21-43-55-05

When I mentioned last post that Wade being hurt would allow LeBron to be LeBron, I forgot that that involved him dominating the basketball. His skill in that area was evident in the last two games, but it wasn’t my biggest concern.

Wade is Mauled

nba2k11 2011-03-19 03-07-01-20

We were in Memphis to see the Grizzlies, and just like our last game against them, it was infuriating. It seemed like every time I passed the ball it got tipped, and I could never get open.

All Bucked Up

nba2k11 2011-03-18 23-37-57-28

The Milwaukee Bucks came to town tonight, which I figured would be great chance to display my new ‘play in the flow of the game’ style. What happened was pretty unprecedented for me.
