Kill the Coach

My latest game against Philadelphia was something of a new sensation. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but something seemed different. The world looked richer to me, and the world seemed to move faster.

(translation: new PC = higher settings and a new shading filter… I’m not sure I like the filter yet, so it may not stay)

Ah well. On to the Sixers.

My first shot was a three from the corner, but I wasn’t playing well from the outset. Tipped passes, missed rebounds and poor shooting seemed to plague the start of the game for me. By halftime though, my game began to come together.

We were pulling away and I had 23 points and 6 rebounds but I wasn’t passing well. My playmaking has taken a dive lately  so I focused the second half on getting it back in order.

I got a helping hand from Josh Smith, passing him the ball for dunks at the rim.

Yeah! Fist bump! Thanks in large part to Josh getting me rolling, I hit 9 assists  with just under two minutes left to go with 11 rebounds. With less then two minutes to go, it’s going to be tough but I can…

… wait, what?

You have got to be kidding me.

Nope, Coach wasn’t kidding (henceforth known as Coach Sh!t for Brains IX). I was almost at a milestone that I’ve worked for for so long! Leave me in! Argh. Worse yet he put me back in with 0.5 seconds left, as if to taunt me. He and I are not on good terms right now.

It was a good game for me anyway. 31 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal and – despite my bad passing – no turnovers. We’re now 19-0 on the year. Something has to give, doesn’t it? We’re destroying the whole concept of ‘competitive basketball’ here. Who will finally beat us? There’s only one way to find out!

    What’s your PC specs?

I went from a 2.5 GHz Athlon 64 X2 to a 2.9 GHz Core i5, from 4 GB DDR2 to 8 GB DDR3, and from 32-bit Vista to 64-bit Windows 7. My video card remained an nVidia 8800GT but I jumped from 10 FPS (with player models on ‘high’) and 20-30 FPS (with players on ‘medium’) to 60 with everything maxed out.
